My name, Ayelen, means “happiness” or “joy” in the Mapuche language. The Mapuche Native American tribe is located in south-central Chile and south-western Argentina. My name is pronounced: Ah (as in apple), zhe (see below), len (as in lens).

Think of the word confusion. In Argentina, the letter y makes a sound that is similar to the sio in confusion. If that doesn’t make sense, then you see why I chose that particular word.
